Coping with plenty of leisure activities and sense of purpose in life

by Grant in Pennsylvania

I feel that I do my best. Sometimes I feel hopeless. That's the bipolar in my brain talking. Never pay attention!

Due to the advice of my long-time therapist, I have been out of work since 1992, but hope for an Associate's someday and some sheltered work via a clubhouse program to socialize and get some pocket change.

I read and write essays and poetry for the local paper and a literary magazine. I have been successful. It is important to me to cope with leisure activities and a sense of purpose in life. I also study birds, finding each time out fascinating.
