New Fundraising Recognition Program: Mental Health America's Clifford Beers Society

Mental Health America has launched the Clifford Beers Society, an exciting new fundraising program to support our work and initiatives. Unveiled at the 2010 Annual Conference, the society recognizes high level individual and organizational donors to Mental Health America and its affiliates for their commitment of multi-year, unrestricted financial support.
Donors can join the Society at four different levels, starting with the Bronze Level, which requires either a $1,000 donation a year for three years or a bequest of $10,000, up to the Platinum Level, which requires $1,000 a year for life, plus a bequest of at least $10,000, or $100,000 of lifetime giving in any form. Organizational membership follows the same track, with Bronze Level beginning at $5,000 a year for three years and Platinum Level requiring $25,000 a year for more than three years.
Donors are recognized nationally by Mental Health America and are encouraged to give up to half of their donation each year to their local affiliate. The society is part of the soon-to-be announced National Membership Program. Affiliates will have the opportunity to learn about these two exciting new programs at an upcoming series of nationwide webinars, which will be scheduled in August.
In this initial year, those who join by February 19, 2011—the anniversary of Mental Health America—will be permanently recognized as Founding Members and have their names inscribed on a plaque at the base of the Mental Health Bell, housed in the offices of the national headquarters. These names will become part of the permanent memorial, a shining example of the future for mental wellness in America.
