New York: In late 2008, in collaboration with NAMI, and the New York Academy of Medicine, the Mental Health Association of New York City formed the Veterans Mental Health Coalition of NYC. In addition to mental health, substance abuse, health, social service professionals, advocates, VA personnel, and government officials, membership includes service members, veterans, and their families. The mission of the Veterans Mental Health Coalition of NYC is to promote the mental health and well-being of NYC service members, veterans, and their families through education, information, collaboration, and promotion of a comprehensive array of services. Texas: Mental Health America of Texas has been named a partner for a youth suicide prevention program that will provide statewide suicide prevention public awareness, training in schools and communities, and screening and referrals for youth in military families. The purpose of the project is to reduce deaths by suicide and suicide attempts among youth in Texas by developing and implementing youth strategies.

Wisconsin: Kristina Finnel, Director of Programs for Mental Health America of Wisconsin (and serving as Interim President and CEO), has been selected as a 2010 Women Putting Their Stamp on Metro Milwaukee winner. Women Putting Their Stamp on Metro Milwaukee is an award given by the United States Postal Service as a way to pay tribute to Women's History Month. Ms. Finnel received the "Growing Leadership" award.
