FDA Orders "Black Box" Warning on Antidepressants Prescribed for Children and Teens

 

Arizona
The MHA of Arizona reached more than 300 teens and young adults with educational materials on depression, bipolar disorder and suicide in June at the VANS Warped Tour concert series. These include the MHA of Greater San Antonio (Texas), MHA of Colorado, MHA in Indiana, MHA of Central Florida, South Florida MHA MHA in Allegheny County, MHA of South Central Pennsylvania, MHA of Erie County and others.

Delaware
The MHA in Delaware will be hosting its Third Annual People of Color Mental Health Conference Nov. 6, 2004. The conference theme is“ Effective Intervention Through Mind, Body and Spirit” and will feature keynote speaker Kimberly L. Jeffries Leonard, Ph.D., who will discuss the impact that barriers to treatment has on people of color. Ohio
Michael Hogan, the director of the state’s Department of Mental Health and chair of the President’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health, chose the MHA of Summit County to administer the state’s Adult Recovery Network. For more information about the network, visit www.adultrecoverynetwork.org.
