Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Mental Health America. We would love to have you share your unique talents with our community and help us raise awareness for mental health prevention and early identification.

We are currently only able to offer in-person volunteer opportunities in the Washington, D.C. metro area. These volunteer opportunities focus on event support, including our annual national conference and community outreach events. Additionally, volunteers must be 18 years or older to participate. If you are in the D.C. area and want to get involved, learn more by filling out our interest form. Please be aware that in-person volunteer opportunities are limited at this time at the National office. We will keep your name and contact information on file and reach out as opportunities arise.

If you do not live in the Washington, D.C. metro area or if you want to  get involved in other ways, here are a few things you do to help

  1. Get connected to your local MHA affiliate: Our affiliates may have volunteer opportunities in your community. Use our “find an affiliate” tool to find the organization closest to you.

  2. Share our screening tool: Our online, confidential mental health screenings provide valuable insight into one’s mental health. Share this resource, mhascreening.org with your community to encourage others to prioritize their mental well-being.

  3. Follow Mental Health America on social media: Help us spread the importance of mental health by engaging with us on social media. You can find MHA on Facebook (@mentalhealthamerica), Instagram (@mentalhealthamerica), and Twitter (@MentalHealthAm).

Thank you again for your interest in volunteering with Mental Health America and supporting mental health awareness. Together, we can make a difference!

If you live in the Washington D.C. metro area please fill out the form to receive more information on volunteering.
