MHA Recruiting New Board Members
The Nominating and Board Development Committee of the Board of Directors of Mental Health America is seeking recommendation for candidates to serve on the Board of Directors of Mental Health America and its committees.
Mental Health America is dedicated to helping all people live mentally healthier lives. We are especially interested in ensuring that the board and committees comprise dedicated leaders who represent the universe of diverse constituents that our organization serves and collaborates with. We are seeking candidates who will serve with enthusiasm and creativity in our work toward the attainment of our vision of prevention for all; early identification and intervention for those at risk; integrated health and behavioral health care for those who need it; and recovery as a goal.
Nominees elected to the board will serve a three-year term beginning in June of 2015 and are eligible to be elected for a second three-year term. The board meets four times a year. Generally, three meetings are held at the Mental Health America offices in Alexandria, VA, and one is held at the Annual Conference site. In 2015, this is also Alexandria. Board members are expected to attend those meetings either in person or by telephone and to serve on one or more of board committees, which meet in conjunction with the board meetings and via conference calls throughout the year. It is also expected that board members will annually either personally make or help to identify financial contributions to Mental Health America.
Committee members serve one-year terms with no term limitations.
This nomination letter provides additional information about the kind of experience and expertise that would best serve Mental Health America. Self-nominations are welcome. All the nominating committee is asking is that you give us the name of the individual, what you think they can contribute to the Board, and contact information including email and/or phone number.
Nominations are due February 6, 2015.
Questions and contact information for prospective nominees should go to Theresa Nguyen at (703) 838-7536 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
