Purpose of Workshop
The Findlay and Hancock County Community was devastated in late 2007 and early 2008 with two floods resulting in natural disaster declarations. Recovery from these disasters along with the economic strains on the community, many find themselves feeling hopeless. These events can bring great stress to families, friends, co-workers and the community. Most individuals want to help but are unsure and unaware of how to help. This workshop will explain how to identify the signs of a person contemplating a suicide, how to help that person and when and how to get professional help. Hear from individuals who have dealt directly with suicide attempt(s) themselves or by a loved one. The workshop was developed to offer the freedom to attend as little or as much as you wish. Please feel free to attend any or all you are able.
