Julian Rivera is a partner in the Austin office of Brown McCarroll, L.L.P. His practice involves the representation of health care providers in business matters and before government agencies. He represents physicians, dentists, physician groups, ambulatory surgical centers, hospitals and other health care providers. His experience includes representation of clients in a wide variety of licensing and regulatory matters before state and federal agencies. Julian also has extensive experience representing clients in medical staff and credentialing issues, including adversarial peer review proceedings.

Julian received his law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law and his Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Houston. Before attending law school, he did research in immunology, cell biology and genetics at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Following graduation from law school, Julian clerked for the Texas Court of Appeals, Seventh District. He then worked for the Texas Medical Board before entering private practice.

Mr. Rivera currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Austin State Hospital Volunteer Services Council. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association in Texas and Advocacy, Inc. (a federally-funded Protection and Advocacy organization).
