Mental Health America (MHA) and the Florida Certification Board (FCB) are pleased to announce our new partnership with Examity, an online testing platform that offers secure, live-proctoring for examinations. This new partnership will allow peer specialists to sit for the National Certified Peer Specialist (NCPS) certification examination from the comfort of their homes!
In March of 2017, MHA and FCB launched the NCPS, the first national advanced peer specialist certification. Earning the NCPS allows peers to demonstrate their exceptional level of skills, experience, and knowledge and ensures employers and payers that they are getting the same high standard of peer support no matter where they are in the United States.
Now the examination-based certification can be earned anytime, anywhere. Using Examity's secure live-proctored platform, applicants who are approved to take the examination can schedule their exam 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer that has a secure internet connection and webcam. Peers who are interested in taking their exam in-person also have the option to schedule with our approved testing locations.
With increasing opportunities for peer specialists, peers can now show they are on the cutting edge of the growing field of peer support-- whenever and wherever it is most convenient.
